Meet the Players

David Severini

Dave is an original member of International Activities Corporation. He was born in San Francisco, graduated from San Jose State University, and served two years in the U.S. Army deployed overseas. Shortly thereafter he joined IAC as a messenger in 1973.

He holds a United States Customsbroker Licence and is HazMat certified in any mode of transportation. His expertise includes all facets of domestic and international transportation, not limited to but including project cargoes, Department of State License Cargoes and documentation. He specializes in Customs Compliance issues and maintaining a safe haven for our clients.

Dave has chartered all kinds of aircrafts including various configurations of Antonovs and under his guidance, moved goods of a “sensitive” nature, assisted in total Import programs from inception to success. He is considered the “Red Adair” in the industry.

When not grinding in the Forwarding business, he enjoys playing and coaching sports, cooking, gardening, cars and Far Eastern Art. He also collects and enjoys Tequilla.

He maintains personal relationships with clients and agents and prides himself on availability and willingness to share knowledge.

Scott Goldstein

Scott, a New York native, has been in the business for over 35 years, beginning his career at JFK Airport.

In 1979, at the age of 21, he was promoted to branch manager of a well-known national Customs Broker/Freight Forwarder and transferred to San Francisco. While with that firm, he held positions in Seattle and Los Angeles.

Early career specialties were in the distribution of Fresh Cut Flowers, Flowerbulbs and Exporting Live Bare Root Rose Plants. Through his association with these horticultural companies, he has enjoyed a relationship with the local USDA Plant Inspection Station since his arrival in San Francisco.

Scott spent some time working as an independent contractor for one of the oldest Customs Brokerage Houses in the country, providing personalized services to the customers he had acquired since coming to the West Coast.

He continued concentrating on developing export services, whether Air or Ocean Freight and became involved with the company’s NVOCC operation and now is the Director of Logistics for International Activities (IAC), where along with Dave Severini, the two oversee the company’s export activities and foreign agent relations.

With a proven successful track record, he continued his profitable activities at every company he has worked for.

He is currently involved with exporting Sensitive Medical Equipment to China and Agricultural Machinery to Japan, Saudi Arabia, China, Pakistan and Egypt.

Some of his career accomplishments are:

  • Personally started the Fresh Cut Flower Import Program from Amsterdam to San Francisco in the early 1980’s
  • Being nominated as the sole U.S. Forwarder for the International Wine and Spirit Competition held in London each year for 1991 and 1992
  • Worked with some of Francis Ford Coppola’s companies on a number of projects ranging from their entertainment business to wine importing and personally assisting Eleanor Coppola’s “Circle of Memory” project, transporting it to various sites around the world. circleofmemory.org

When not working Scott enjoys tennis, fishing and playing the guitar.

Lisa Bruno

Lisa Bruno has worked in the transportation industry for over 20 years. Joining our import department in 1989 and Import Manager in 1992. She now oversees the Accounting Department and is Vice President of Finance and Revenue Management.
